I've just returned from a tremendous trip to Japan.
How is it that every time I visit this wonderful country, something magical happens?
I met the most wonderful people. I was shown extraordinary kindness. I learned about tea ceremony, and the incredibly skilful Nishijin-ori weaving tradition. I learned more about furoshiki tying, and saw furoshiki being used in traditional settings: wrapping belongings at a temple; wrapping costumes at a matsuri. I ate the most wonderful food: the restaurant in Gion was incredibly special. I had the opportunity to play a simple game with a sweet maiko. I visited beautiful gardens and temples and shrines, and drank bowls and bowls of matcha!
Every time I visit Kyoto it digs deeper into my heart. That is why I feel extraordinarily lucky to be able to support these incredible artisans, and bring these wonderful products to England to share with you. Thank you, for all of your support!
