Our Kyoto Wallets are made in the traditional style of beautiful Nishijin-ori (西陣織, Nishijin fabric), but are an affordable item because they are made from man-made fibre rather than silk. Nishijin-ori is a traditional textile produced in the Nishijin district of Kyoto in Japan. Nishijin weaving originated in the Heian era of Kyoto, around the year 794, when the city became the new capital city, and weaving was developed for the Emperor's court. These exquisite techniques and traditions have been passed down through generations of artisans to the modern day. We are thrilled to be initially stocking three wonderful and practical items: Kyoto Pouches, Kyoto Card Cases, and Kyoto Wallets.
Our beautiful Kyoto Wallets come in 10 different designs. The ones we currently have in stock can all be seen individually in the photos. I've described the colours of each Wallet more accurately here, owing to the limitations of the listing:
1) Red Green Blue Flower
2) Black Pink Blue Sakura
3) Beige Rose Blue Flower
4) Pink Sienna White Hare
5) Red Black Gold Sakura
6) Lilac Bronze Blossom
7) Gold Orange White Weave
8) Blue Black Gold
9) Pink Brown Cherry Sakura
10) Blue Brown Lilac Blossom
The Kyoto Wallet measures approximately 175mm (width) x 95mm (height).
If the colour that you would like is not appearing as an option, I'm so sorry, it's because it's currently out of stock. Do message me, and I will do my best to let you know when it will become available again! :) I also may have alternative patterns and colours in stock to the ones listed here!
