Our beautiful Sumi-e Take tenugui is a Zusetsu limited availability tenugui art print direct from Kyoto.
It is a tenugui from a series of sumi-e paintings of pine, bamboo, and plum by a kimono Yuzen painter.
The additional highlights of shimmering gold-colour ink on the bamboo leaves, as well as accents of aqua, make this an especially lovely art piece.
The tenugui are made using old-fashioned looms in Japan. High quality threads are carefully woven with a little fluff for a long period of time. This creates a woven fabric that is finely textured and smooth to the touch.
These beautiful quality tenugui are mainly dyed with Yuzen dyeing, one of Kyoto's traditional dyeing techniques. Each colour has its own printing frame, and is printed layer by layer. This technique creates rich and vivid colour, and makes the beautiful design a truly lovely piece of wall art for your office or home.
